Rev. James Marshall is a graduate of Hot Springs High School. A Arkansas National Guard veteran, in 1993, he was honorably discharged after serving his country for 13 years. Rev. Marshall and wife, Sis. Sonja Marshall have 3 children (a daughter and two sons.)
Rev. Marshall served as a deacon at Gethsemane Missionary Baptist Church and at St. Thomas Baptist Church, both in Hot Springs. In 1995, he was commissioned as a Constable in Garland County and served vigilantly in his community. In 2003, Rev. Marshall accepted in calling to the ministry at Great St. Paul Baptist Church, in Hot Springs. As an Associate Minister, he served as SW District Section Ministers Secretary and taught Sunday school. In 2009, the Marshall family moved to Little Rock and united with Grace Temple Church where he also served in the capacity of an Associate Minister and taught Sunday School. In 2015 and 2016, Rev.and Mrs. Marshall united with Emmanuel Baptist Church, respectively, where Rev. Marshall joined the EBC pulpit as associate minister
Al B. Morgan, a product of Little Rock, AR has humbly served as the pastor of the Emmanuel Baptist Church for the past 11 years. In October 1996, Rev. Morgan publicly announced his call to the gospel ministry. He delivered his first sermon and was licensed, in November 1996. In December 1998, Rev. Morgan was called to serve as pastor of the Gumwood Baptist Church of Keo, AR. Rev. Morgan served there for nearly 6 years. In January 2006, Pastor Morgan joined Emmanuel Baptist Church as its 6th pastor. Emmanuel has flourished spiritually, economically, and socially under Pastor Morgan’s leadership. The LORD has tremendously blessed us to experience numerous building renovation, and new and revived ministries. We host annual community festivals to clothe and feed our community and neighbors, while providing medical care, school supplies, and various social assistance. Pastor Morgan visits the sick and shut-in members; serves bereaved families near and far (including non-members); counsels privately; and he personally greets members and guests each Sunday. A graduate of Little Rock Central High and the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, Pastor Morgan also attended and studied at the Missionary Baptist Seminary. He has served as a certified instructor in the Union District Baptist.
Rev. William Mitchell is EBC's longest serving pulpit minister and is the proud husband of our very own deaconess and Missions leader, Sis. Betty Mitchell. Prior to joining EBC, Rev. Mitchell was the pastor of Bethesda MB Church, in Little Rock, and has served as interim pastor multiple times throughout EBC's history. Over the years, he has also served in the capacity of Transportation ministry leader, Evangelism ministry leader, Missions ministry leader, and outstanding sanctuary and male choir member.
Rev. Ramon Black is not only an EBC associate minister, he is also an experienced guitarist. Every Sunday, his talents are on display as an EBC musician. He and his wife Mrs. Genora Black, were married at EBC in March 2019. He serves as the Evangelism ministry leader and Outreach program leader.
